The color purple is one of my favorite colors because it’s a combination of a calming blue and the fierce boldness of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple is used heavily to represent a variety of characteristics such as wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.
In nature it is rare to see the color purple except with flower blooms; and as a result is often seen as having sacred meaning. Lavender, orchid, lilac, Iris and violet flowers are considered delicate and precious.
As for how the color purple effects people; there is a variety of effects the color has on our mind and body. For must people it is usually uplifting, calming, or creates a scenes of spirituality. It increasing nurturing tendencies, taps into our sensitivity, and encourages the imagination and creativity. As a nature photographer, I seem to be drawn to the color purple quite a lot while I’m out on nature shoots especially when it appears in the sky.
