Week’s Best Space Pictures: Hercules Poses, California Gleams, and a Pulsar Puzzles

week-in-space-320-02_85009_600x450Images from space have always intrigue me. We live our lives on such a small part of this earth and most people will never step foot into another country; but when you see some of these photographs it really puts things into perspective on just how small we really are. Check these out; they are simply amazing. My favorite is the nighttime panorama photograph of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and the Sierra Nevada. Look into the distance to the curved horizon, its tinted green with the glimmers of the northern lights. – photo gallery by Mallory Benedict

Great pic, I’ve recently picked up the new Chris Hadfield book which is all photographs of the Earth taken from space. Amazing!
