As a writer, I find the use of photographs will at times provide me a lens for seeing a scene, person, or memory through a different lens. The image is frozen, stilled, observable for contemplation, unlike the rapidly changing events before me. I can settle on a detail I’d overlooked.
Which is more real? Perhaps neither. But they remain pointers to our engagement with life.

It’ now seems so hard to believe that 30 years ago I engaged in heated debates with my rigid friends as to whether photography was a “real” art form. No more debate.

What I love about photography now is its accessibility to everyone via DSLR technology and amazing, intuitive processing tools. Thank you for following me, I will enjoy following your blog too. 🙂
