Photo Quickie: Framing

A black and white photograph of the open fields of Valley Forge Park on a misty November day. Photograph created by Melissa Fague.

Framing can be very helpful when you cannot get close to your subject to capture a lot of detail. It can give you an interesting way to deal with empty space in the foreground or in the sky. In this landscape photograph, Mist of Valley Forge, the sky was heavy with mist and was bland looking. Using the tree and a branch next to me helped control the space and keep focus on the valley leading up to the log cabin.
