Did You Know…Tintypes

Most of us will never use these but its still an interesting little fact about photography.  Tintypes, were a thin sheet of iron that was used to provide a base for light-sensitive material, yielding a positive image. They were patented by Hamilton Smith in 1856, were another medium that heralded the birth of photography.
