Photographer in the Spotlight: Landscape Photographer José Ramos
Last week we chose to showcase nature and landscape photographer José Ramos in our Spotlight but unfortunately we had a family emergency that took our attention away from the blog for the week, so we are picking up where we left off. José Ramos is from Lisboa, Portugal; he was nominated by one of his followers on 500px. Jose has a beautiful array of Seascape and Landscape Photographs with a variety of subjects and beautiful coloring. I hope you enjoy Jose’s bio and stunning photographs in this week’s Photographer in the Spotlight; check back each day to see the 7 photographs of Jose’s we selected to spotlight. Don’t forget, you can nominate yourself or your favorite photographer at: PI Photography and Fine Art.
My name is José Ramos and I’m a 32 years old landscape photographer from Portugal. I’ve developed an increasing interest in photography over the last years, and this passion grew so strong that this was the art I have chosen to express myself, as well as to pay homage to the beauty and power of the planet we inhabit
I’m currently dividing my professional time between working as a doctor (in the psychiatry field) and photographing, which implies great dedication to be able to develop my skills in both areas. So far this has been possible at the expense of sleeping hours, which could only be bearable through intense passion about both subjects.
In my photos, the act of raising awareness about Nature and the need to protect the environment is simultaneously linked, through embedded concepts for each image, with existential reflections about the self and man’s place in the world.
“When the aesthetic power of nature meets a man’s vision of the world, creation takes place and images become the crystallized hybrid product of this encounter. Traveling and endlessly searching for the light, the silence and the lessons of the landscape, here I present you my vision of the world as seen through my eyes and soul, hoping I can at least take you there just for a moment, to the moment which lies so intense in my memory…”
Where You Can Find Jose’s Work
Today’s Spotlight Photograph: Landscape Photo – The Frozen Flow
Several months ago PI Photography and Fine Art rolled out with a new series of blog posts called Photographer in the Spotlight. For a full week we will showcase the bio, artist statement and seven images of a selected photographer’s work that we found most interesting. Our hope is that our audience not only sees the beautiful work created by these passionate photographers but also learn a little about the artists behind the pieces. There are so many wonderful photographers in the world and a lot of the time we only see the photograph, not the artist. So we thought it would be nice to show appreciation for the artist, for their dedication to their field, and share some of their work along the way.
Think about it, if it wasn’t for the artist then there would be no art to admire and honestly, life would be pretty boring without it! So show your appreciation to them for spicing up your life and showing you their beautiful perception of the world. Share their stories and captivating work for others to experience.
If you would like to be showcased or know a photographer who should be, please submit the info through our contact us page: Photographer in the Spotlight Submissions
