Landscape / Nature Photography 101: Mapping

 Map Out Location

Cape Henlopen Sunset Landscape Photography created by Nature and Landscape Photographer Melissa Fague

A good photographers will never head out
for a landscape or nature shoot in new location without having some idea of what is available in that area.  Before you leave home for your photographic adventure, use your OS map of the area you are planning to photograph with your times to be at each location along the route. OS maps are invaluable; they enable a photographer to plan a route, working out elevations and exactly where the mountain peaks, lakes and scenic spots are.  The map plus a schedule will keep you on track for the most optimal light for your nature and landscape photographs.
